What is Dhoom-pan?

Dhoom- Paan is a part of Ayurveda that prescribes medicines to be ingested via smoke. The medicinal potential of igniting and inhaling the smoke of certain herbs is tremendous. Little about Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years.

About me

My grandfather, Vaidya Anant Nitsure was revered for his excellent diagnosis of illness. He practiced medicine from the early 1950s till the late 1990s. I have been witness to his practice and testimony of his success. More on him in separate blogs. He kept on studying, experimenting, inventing and reinventing his technique throughout his lifetime. One of the most effective techniques he discovered was that of Dhoom-Paan. He perfected the science by practicing it on himself and only then did he begin prescribing it to patients. Due to his relentless effort and contribution to the technique of Dhoom-Paan, he is referred to as the ‘Father of Smoke Therapy’. I watched him practice this technique for years and decided to take his legacy forward.

The blends

Right after my graduation my intense desire to research herbal blends for smoke therapy and make it more accessible for everyone took on my journey of discovery.  Travelling across India, handpicking herbs from various parts, trying out its blends, finding the right fixatives to keep it together and importantly – maintaining a pleasant taste; the road was winding with no end in sight, just a goal in mind!. Creating a modern formulation of traditional knowledge was my only aim. Through 18 years of intense research, finally, I  present to you a product that is closest to perfection. It is easily palatable and completely chemical-free.  You can check out Maruk & Temburi here (link)
